It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

~~~
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly event on my blog; So Many Books So Little Time. This is where book bloggers and readers gather to talk about what books they’ve read and/or reviewed last week, what books they’re currently reading and what books they’re planning to read. This is a great way to organise/plan our reading week/month, and to take a sneak peek at what others are reading. Usually Posted on Monday’s.
Hello, bookish lovelies! 📚 Good Morning & How was your weekend?!
Sooo today, I was thinking that I should post one of these! I know, I know I haven’t posted one of these in forever! Lately I’ve been really disorganized or rather, I’ve been feeling disorganized, with my blog, and TBR list. And in the past I found that this was a good way to keep track of everything, as well as kind of decide what books I should read next (I have so many books, on my shelf that I have not read & I keep buying more, soo it’s really hard to pick sometimes 🙊).
So, yeah, I might start making this a weekly thing, or bi-weekly, I’m not too sure yet. Most likely bi-weekly because I’m a slowww reader xD, okay, maybe not that slow? It takes me about 4 days (about 1.5 – 2hrs each day) to read one book, sometimes longer, especially if it’s a good book and I don’t want it to end. Mhmm, do you think that’s slow? 🤔 Haha.
In this post, I’m just going to share the books I’ve read in the past few months; I mean if I share everything I’ve read this year, this post will be wayyy too long (2017 Reads)! As well as some of the books I’m thinking of reading next! And maybe y’all can help me pick! 😍💕
Also, I’d love to know what you’re reading!
Anyways, on to the book part of this post! 🤩😍📚
    • V Games by Caroline Peckham | ARC | Goodreads
    • Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter | Goodreads
    • The Mostly True Story of Jack by Kelley Barnhill | Goodread
I got an ARC for V Games about 2 weeks ago, and I don’t know why it took me so long to read it! Today is the release day! Although, I’m only 96% finished it and I’ve already reviewed it because I wanted/needed to post before the release day.
I got The Mostly True Story of Jack by Kelley Barnhill a couple of days ago. It’s not the type of book I would usually pick, but the cover and the green colour in the cover is soo pretty, I had to buy it. Lol. Yeah I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover… but I know we’re all guilty of it!🙊
✨What book(s) have you bought purely because of the cover? ✨
Happy Monday & Happy Reading!
~Description~
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…
~Review~
I don’t even know where to start. Confess is definitely one of favorite Colleen Hoover books since I’ve started reading her work. This one is right up there with her Slammed series,  Hopeless series and It Ends With Us. Everything about Confess was so intense. I was pulled in from start to finish. The characters and plot were well-constructed, and the writing, as always, was dead-on.
Auburn Reed has had an average life and you can definitely say things haven’t went according to plan. Auburn is a very resilient character and she isn’t going down without a fight. Auburn is desperate for a second job when stopping in front of a studio covered in anonymous people’s confession she never thought things would turn out the way they do. She gets offered a job by Owen Gentry, an artist looking for an assistant for his showBoth Auburn and Owen are perfectly written characters. Always revealing the perfect amount of themselves at the perfect time, always giving banter at the right moments, and always pulling out all the romantic stops at the right time.
Owen like most artist is eccentric and all over the place, but when he sees Auburn his life comes into focus. This isn’t a case of insta-love, it more about things lining up. He can see the life he wants to have, the life he deserves to have. However, he is also keeping a secret and it could destroy any chances he could ever have with Auburn.
At the beginning you read that all the confessions shared in the story are real anonymous confessions shared by readers. So while I read this story my heart broke for these anonymous people who shared a piece of themselves. Anonymous or not it is such a brave act to give a piece of yourself away, but more importantly to admit your feelings.
I read this book as slowly as I could to prolong the experience. The story was completely unpredictable. Most books give you a vague idea of the direction they’re heading in but not Confess. I read each page with no idea what would happen next and I honestly loved that about it. I have such complete trust in Colleen Hoover’s writing that I never once doubted that she would take the story exactly wherever it needed to go. So I just sat back and enjoyed the ride!
I cannot recommend this book enough. It has so much heart and soul, and the story is beautifully delivered. I highly recommend it!
#1:
“And I like it. I like it when he stares at me, because it’s been a long time since I’ve felt beautiful in someone else’s eyes. And right now, he’s watching me so closely and with such a satisfied, heated look in his eyes, I would be fine if we spent the rest of the night just doing this and not speaking at all.”
#2:
“I think love is a hard word to define,” I say to her. “You can love a lot of things about a person but still not love the whole person.”
#3:
“Selflessness. It should be the basis of every relationship. If a person truly cares about you, they’ll get more pleasure from the way they make you feel, rather than the way you make them feel.”
