The Faerie Guardian (Creepy Hollow, #1)

Protecting humans from dangerous magical creatures is all in a day’s work for a faerie training to be a guardian. Seventeen-year-old Violet Fairdale knows this better than anyone—she’s about to become the best guardian the Guild has seen in years. That is, until a cute human boy who can somehow see through her faerie glamor follows her into the Fae realm. Now she’s broken Guild Law, a crime that could lead to her expulsion.

The last thing Vi wants to do is spend any more time with the boy who got her into this mess, but the Guild requires that she return Nate to his home and make him forget everything he’s discovered of the Fae realm. Easy, right? Not when you factor in evil faeries, long-lost family members, and inconvenient feelings of the romantic kind. Vi is about to find herself tangled up in a dangerous plot—and it’ll take all her training to get out alive.

[This novel was originally published in four separate parts: Guardian, Labyrinth, Traitor and Masquerade. It includes bonus scenes at the end that were not published in the individual parts.]

First, I want to say that I love, love LOVE, the cover!

The story took place in the human realm and in Creepy Hollow. The descriptions of the settings and action scenes were more than I could have hoped for, they were so detailed. The way the author described Creepy Hollow, all of beautiful colors,
the tall trees, nature, and paranormal creatures, was very realistic, like Creepy Hollow actually existed. I was super impressed.

The main character is Violet [but goes by the name Vi] She’s 17-year-old, whose independent, intelligent, and hardworking. She was in her fifth year in training to become a guardian; she learns to protect humans from the paranormal creatures. It was important to her to graduate at the top of her class, as her mother had done before her. Another significant character is Ryn, who was Vi’s competition. Ryan was confident, he knew he was attractive. And then we have Nate, the human boy, who was able to see past Violet’s faerie charm while she was battling a creature; protecting him. They end up falling for each other.

The Faerie Guardian is a fast-paced, and action-packed story! It was really captivating story, it really pulls the reader in! I definitely could not stop reading! There were many features that made this story enjoyable. I liked the setting of Creepy Hollow, how the author presented this new world and especially the characters in the story, learning about the many different types of paranormal creatures for example, Faeries, Pixies, Sprites,… etc. I just had to find out what was happening next. I definitely recommend it. Can’t wait to read more, from this author.
