Wow! Just finished reading “Thoughtless” and for everyone who said this would be a roller coaster ride you were not kidding!!
This is a pretty lengthy novel, which is something I had absolutely no problem with –S.C. Stephens is an incredibly gifted author, and I fell in love with this book from start to finish. She has a way of making all of her characters seem so believable. This book takes you through a series of so many emotions, and I found myself biting my nails through a few scenes I immediately fell head-over-heels in love with Kellan Kyle. *sigh* ……But at the same time, I also had a soft spot for Denny. Kellan had some very dark and deep issues from his past that shaped him into the person he became. He was a man who brought passion into Kiera’s world like she could have never imagined. Denny is also such a sweetheart to Kiera- You really feel the love between the two of them in their relationship- Even with Denny’s turn of events, the force drawing Kiera and Kellan together just absolutely would not have been stopped. The love triangle between three main characters; Kiera, the heroine, her boyfriend, Denny and Kellan, Kiera’s other love interest had me wondering where things were going for each of them on a minute by minute basis.
This is an extremely intense story of a young woman who is torn between her love for two equally deserving men, and their unwavering love for her. I could see why she would be attracted to both of these guys. Heck, I freaking was. And I could even understand her wishy-washy attitude at times… But I must admit, it definitely grated on my nerves more than enough times. Actually, although I truly did like Kiera’s character, many things about her grated on my nerves… For instance, all her freaking blushing! And at the most insignificant things at times- I can understand if it happens once or twice, but the girl had to have constantly been looking like she sported a sun-burn. Getting deeper into the relationship between her and Kellan, there were many moments where I wanted to slap Kiera for seeming to have no regard for Denny or Kellan’s mental well-being.
The back and forth, sneaking around, trying to do the right thing, trying to hide the wrong, again, DROVE ME NUTS! I LOVE this book.If you seriously enjoy the many ups and even more downs of a relationship and how it all pans out, I recommend this book. It will leave you thinking about them and wishing you could fix their situations, over and over…even when you dream. Thoughtless is one of those books that leaves you thinking about these questions, the characters and their choices for days if not weeks after reading. Can’t wait to read the next novel in the series!!
